Religion: We will begin Unit 3, Chapter 9 Jesus Teaches Us That God Cares. Students will learn that God provides care for all living things and they can help God care for the the world.

Math: Chapter 5 ...Geometry and Fractions Students will identify the space shapes: cone, cube, cylinder, sphere, and rectangular prism and review the plane shapes: circle, rectangle, square, and triangle. They will
identify the characteristics of space shapes: corners, faces, and curves.

Phonics: Please help your child learn the Short Vowel Rule. If a word or syllable has only one vowel, and it comes at the beginning or between two consonants, the vowel is usually short.
We will continue to read and write words with the blends: bl, cl, cr, dr, gl, pl, tr, and tw.

Spelling: class drop clap track trip dress

Grammar: Students will learn that the tense of a verb tells when the action takes place. Present tense verbs tell about actions that happen now. We will review concept that most verbs add -s to tell what one person or thing does now.
We will also learn that the important words in the title of a book begin with a capital letter.
